Top Tweets of the Week: NFL Week 4
Tweets from accounts within the Hashtags Sports network received 33,876 likes during week four of the NFL Season. With Vontaze Burfict getting suspended, OBJ getting in a fight, and an electric week of football it was a good week for social media content.
Week four was an exciting week for our Civil War Captain, as he received a letter from the former commander of the Colts unit. Keeping up with the fun lore of Captain Jacoby Brissett, we had Capt. Andrew Luck (who put the gun down earlier this season) write a letter of commendation to the new young commander, Captain Jacoby Brissett.
Earlier this week, a photo of the new young quarterback of the New York Giants emerged. In this childhood photo, you see a young Daniel Jones wearing an Eli Manning jersey - the man who’s job he will eventually take.
A highlight from week three’s Monday Night Football game went viral, as we see how Danny Trevathan was able to get through the Redskins’ Offensive Line. The man literally played opossum, in a bold highlight reel.
Colts mascot Blue is one of the, if not the, best in the game. Here is a highlight reel featuring his best moments in costume.
We found and reemerged one of the craziest highlights in NFL history. In thi sfilm, you see Drew Brees throw a stiff arm to escape defenders, only to have the ball intercepted. As the defender is returning the ball, he gets stripped and the Saints score a touchdown to tie the game up. Is this the best film in NFL history? Probably.
Another piece of NFL Film history we reemerged was Peyton Manning’s infamous line he shouts as he’s running away from Rams’ defender Donald Brown.
Antonio Brown can’t stay out of the news and definitely can’t stay off Twitter. He found himself in a Twitter argument with Rams’ Eric Weddle. Not to pick sides, but Weddle definitely won this one.
The internet’s favorite Gardner Minshew broke the internet when he finally met his celebrity doppelgänger, Uncle Rico!
A highlight from Thursday Night’s primetime game was Aaron Rodgers gorgeous touchdown pass to Packers’ receiver Davante Adams. You could watch this throw on loop for the rest of your life and never get bored.
It seems others are taking inspiration to start their own Civil War themed pages for their favorite players. It’s all in good fun, so we played along prior to the Oakland Raiders game.
Bills fanbase called “Bills Mafia” always manage to find themselves in the news. This time it was through a 10AM clip of them picking a fight with Patriots fans at a traffic stop.
Marlon Humphrey and Odell Beckham Jr. went at it during their Sunday matchup, and there is nothing Twitter loves more than a good ol’ fight.
The media loves to over-glorify every small thing Chiefs’ quarterback Patrick Mahomes does, so this week we decided to parody that. We were able to make this seemingly nothing GIF of Mahomes looking back at a reciever go viral, and it sparked quite the controversy to those heads it went over.
With the Bills playing the division rivals and fan favorite Patriots this week, they were in the spotlight of the media. In case you don’t understand how tailgating in Buffalo works, this one minute video should sum it up.
With the Raiders making their way to Indianapolis, our Civil War Captain Jacoby Brissett writes to his mother in angst. These Pirates are known to play dirty…
Lamar Jackson has been a fan favorite this season, and not only is it because of his improvements on the field. Take a look at how he handles the media making a nothing story out of him taking a small hit.
Deshaun Watson schooled a reporter after a dumb question. Playing quarterback isn’t as simple as the fan on the couch thinks it is, and seeing a QB explain that to a reporter is something we want to see more of. Especially with a smart young quarterback like Deshaun Watson.
The internet loves Jaguars’ quarterback Gardner Minshew, and because of that the internet loves to watch him succeed. That said, it’s no surprise this clip of him escaping defenders to throw an impressive touchdown went viral,
Joe Mixon absolutely laid out the Steelers middle linebacker coming in for a blitz, and the internet went crazy.
In a sloppy loss, Capt. Brissett and his men were defeated by those Pirates! Our Civil War commander expresses his concerns with his team in this weeks letter to his mother.
The infamously dirty player Vontaze Burfict has been suspended for all of the 2019 season following a dirty hit during his game in Indianapolis. We take a look at some of Vontaze’s career lows in this original “highlight” video.
You also can never forget that time that Steelers’ JuJu Smith-Schuster avenged his former teammate Antonio Brown with a clean hard hit to Burfict back in 2017.
Seeing as the game Vontaze Burfict was suspended over was the game against the Colts, we weren’t gonna let our Captain rest without informing his mother of his enemies crimes of war.
Ending the week, we mock one of the dirtiest NFL players of all time as we finally get some of that sweet justice.
